Primary market research - Q&A online trough Google.docs and face to face as well. Questions were tasted and changed in time to meet more expectation and to be more helpful creating the application.
Part of the primary market research, Created Personas, scenarios and Use Cases, trying to be as user centred as possible.
Secondary market research - A Swedish robotics company - Fuelmatic AB, already had this amassing idea and they are keep improving since 2012. Because of their choice and reasoning to switch from the station panel application to a phone application, I changed my original idea. This change was welcomed by customers very well.
This is a representation of the automatic fuelling door that should be on each car- it's just replacing the tank door that we have today on our vehicles. It should be made by a solid metal to give protection. The tank lid can be replaced by a valve lid - this kind of lids are already used for aircrafts and by Fuelmatics. This will improve the fuelling process even if the customer will not use the automatic fuelling station. I find the iris mechanism system being ideal in this case, but it can have many displays and more or less opening blades, depending of the car designer's choices.
This is a sketch of the robotic arm - on the left is the panel with the fuel source and all the options that the station has  - this will allow to the device to connect to any fuel type after the customer request. The pump will have some mobility and enough hose to reach the car's fuel tank after detection.
Wire-framing - a short sketch of the fuelling process
Sketch of the application according to the Primary market research, trying to meet as many of the user's needs and request possible. It can definitely be improved or modified during the next steps.
